How to reach Executor Handbook to report an error on an estate page or calculator, or ask about a published figure. We give no legal advice and no referrals.

Found a mistake, or have a question about something we published? Email us at contact@executorhandbook.com.

This page is general information, not legal or tax advice. Estate law varies by state and changes. Ask the court clerk, or a lawyer or tax professional, about your case.

Reporting an error

Please include the address of the page, the figure or sentence you think is wrong, and a link to a source for the right information if you have one. A statute, a court page or a court form is the most useful. We check every report against the source. Our corrections page explains what happens next.

Questions about your own estate

We are not a law firm and can’t give legal or tax advice, so we can’t read a will, review court papers, say what you are owed, or recommend a lawyer. Emailing us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Our pages show how the rules work and what to ask.

For your own situation, the probate court clerk in the county where the person lived can usually explain the forms and steps, though a clerk can’t tell you what to do. Many courts also have a self-help center. A lawyer, a tax professional or your local legal aid office can look at the facts of your case. If a deadline may be running, or a will or the estate’s debts are in dispute, please don’t wait for a reply from us.

Law firms, advertisers and companies

We don’t sell sponsored posts, links, reviews, listings or placements, and we don’t take affiliate deals, sell leads or make referrals. If you publish a figure we cite, and a fact on our page is wrong, send a source and we will check it like any other report.

Our privacy policy explains how we handle what you send us. Please don’t send Social Security numbers, account numbers, death certificates, wills or other private papers.
